Most Popular Sports in the World

When I was young (8 - 25 of age), ang pagkakaalam ko talaga BASKETBALL ang pinaka-sikat na laro sa buong mundo, mahilig ako sa basketball pero hinde ko alam kung bakit hindi ako hiligan ng larong ito..
I’m a REGGIE MILLER fan that time, but when I came in Saudi, nagtaka ako kung bakit ang mga ARAB ay hindi alam kung ano ang BASKETBALL

here is my conversation in ARABIC transliteration:

Ana KALAM (I said): Liesh Mafi BASKETBALL COURT hina?
ARAB: Esh Basketball?
Ana KALAM (I said): Inta Mafi Malom Basketball?, Hada El Al-Ab Al Mashura Fil Al-Alam!

ARAB: SOCCER el Al-Ab Al Mashura huna.. ! La ahad ya arif Basketball huna!

Dahil laging ready ang aking LAPTOP at MOBILY3.5G para sa mga ganyang pagtatalo, I Open and Search this matter in YAHOO upang patunayan ko sa kanya kung sino ang TAMA, subalit eto ang tumambad sa akin…

Football (SOCCER)
-is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players using a spherical ball. It is widely considered to be the most popular sport in the world.

-is a bat-and-ball team sport that is first documented as being played in southern England in the 16th century. By the end of the 18th century, cricket had developed to the point where it had become the national sport of England.

Field hockey
-is a team sport in which a team of players attempt to score goals by hitting, pushing or flicking the ball with hockey sticks into the opposing team's goal. Its official name is simply hockey,[1][2] and this is the common name for it in many countries. However, the name field hockey is used in countries where the word hockey is usually reserved for another form of hockey, such as ice hockey or street hockey.
-is a sport usually played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a strung racquet to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court.
-is an Olympic team sport in which two teams of 6 players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.[1] This article focuses on competitive indoor volleyball; numerous other variations of volleyball have developed, most notably the Olympic spin-off sport beach volleyball.
Table tennis
-is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight, hollow ball back and forth with rackets. The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, players must allow a ball played toward them only one bounce on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side. Points are scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. A skilled player can impart several varieties of spin to the ball, altering its trajectory and limiting an opponent's options to great advantage.
-is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each. The goal is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of four bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot square, or diamond. Players on one team (the batting team) take turns hitting against the pitcher of the other team (the fielding team), which tries to stop them from scoring runs by getting hitters out in any of several ways. A player on the batting team can stop at any of the bases and later advance via a teammate's hit or other means. The teams switch between batting and fielding whenever the fielding team records three outs. One turn at bat for each team constitutes an inning; nine innings make up a professional game. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins.

-is a precision club-and-ball sport, in which competing players (golfers), using many types of clubs, attempt to hit balls into each hole on a golf course while employing the fewest number of strokes.
Gridiron football
-is an umbrella term used to refer to several similar codes of football played primarily in the United States and Canada. The term refers to the sport's characteristic field of play, which is marked with a series of parallel lines resembling a gridiron.
